Aims and Scope

The purpose of the Design and Technology Teacher Education Group (DTTEG) is to share ‘best’ and emerging practice, encourage diverse perspectives and promote the development of D&T education. DTTEG is an unincorporated association. We are a collective comprised of university- and school-based teacher educators, involved with initial teacher education, continuing professional development and postgraduate study. We speak with many voices but are united in our desire to promote the teaching of designing, making and evaluation in primary and secondary school settings.

The DTTEG website is a forum for exchanging news, ideas and opinions about D&T teacher education. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Teacher education programmes: school-based and university-based, undergraduate and postgraduate;
  • Subject knowledge enhancement;
  • Recruitment to teacher education programmes;
  • Responding to government policy that affects D&T teacher education;
  • Updates on programme developments;
  • Curriculum matters in teacher education;
  • Resources available for and to the D&T teacher education community;
  • Early career development;

Contributors

Contributions welcome from anyone involved in D&T teacher education, including:
